Boston Wet Sox

Practices

Change of Venue

We are currently moving our home swimming pool. Practices will resume with more frequency and much lower fees after the DC tournament in late October. Please subscribe to a mailing list or twitter feed to be alerted when we have our schedule.

Workout

A strong warm up (500 yards) is generally followed by various swimming drills, passing exercises, defense and offense drills. The last 45 minutes are usually dedicated to intra-team scrimmaging.

New Players

We encourage new players to join us for some fun in the pool.

Note that we swim at the pool in the Case Center, not the newer aquatics center on Commonwealth Ave. We usually group up in the lobby near the main entrance before heading down to the locker rooms.

Try to arrive a few minutes early so that we can fill out paperwork and make introductions.

Drop-Ins

Drop-Ins are welcome. Please bring a copy of your insurance number from USAWP or your national body.

History

Our club began practicing in January 2008 as part of the LANES Swim Club. As the popularity of our team grew quickly over the first several months, we eventually decided to branch out on our own. We are now the Boston Wet Sox Water Polo Club! Practices are currently held at Boston University's Case Center and we continue to see strong interest from novice and veteran players alike. The Boston Wet Sox have participated in tournaments across the continent, including NYC, Toronto, Montreal, Washington DC,  and Hawaii.
